No one expects a 5’9″ point guard to protect the rim.
Chris Paul stole the ball from Isaiah Thomas and had a wide open lane to the basket. Paul thought he had an easy layup, then this happened.
Paul looked shocked. He slowed down to ensure two points. Thomas came out of no where and knocked the ball out of bounds. This shows you can never slow down in the NBA.
This is a pure effort play by Thomas. He sprinted down the court and snuck behind Paul. Once Paul slowed down, Thomas read his steps perfectly and swatted the ball out of his hands.
Paul wiped over his head at the end of the play looking for the foul. The referees made the right call making no call.
The “Little Guy” doesn’t play little anymore.
