Report: Devin Booker to undergo hand surgery, out indefinitely

Phoenix Suns star shooting guard Devin Booker will undergo right hand surgery Monday and is out indefinitely, according to Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro.

Booker will have the surgery in Los Angeles and is likely to miss the start of training camp.

Booker averaged 24.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.7 assists last season, shooting 43.2 percent from the field and 38.3 percent from three. The Suns, however, only won 21 games and had the worst record in the NBA. Phoenix’s putrid season netted them the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 draft and the organization selected Arizona big man Deandre Ayton.

Booker signed a five-year, $158 million maximum contract extension this summer.
