Cappie Pondexter Named Official Spokesperson of The Ladies League
Silver Spring, Maryland – The Ladies League, an organized women’s basketball league hosted by BBH Dynamism LLC and Basketball Society, announced 7-time WNBA All-Star Cappie Pondexter as the first official spokesperson.
The Ladies League, founded in 2017, provides a platform for women to embrace their competitive nature as hoopers. The mantra, “Every Girl Has Two Sides”, acknowledges the desire for ladies to compete at a high level despite the lives they have developed outside of basketball. Former college basketball players from the likes of UConn, Syracuse, VCU, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Howard, and Hampton have participated in The Ladies League.
Cappie Pondexter, a 2x WNBA champion, MVP of the 2007 WNBA Finals, and Olympic gold medalist, joins The Ladies League as the first official spokesperson.
I’m happy to be the first spokesperson for The Ladies League. I’ve literally watched Basketball Society grow from a few thousand followers to now and I’m excited that we along with BBH Dynamism will help grow the women’s game together.
Pondexter is a 14-year veteran who was named one of the Top 15 WNBA Players of All Time. She was selected no. 2 overall by the Phoenix Mercury in the 2006 WNBA Draft.
