The Golden State Warriors have waived former top pick Nemanja Nedovic on Tuesday according to Diamond Leung of the Oakland Tribune.

Nedovic

Recently, Nemanja Nedovic has let it be known that he is unhappy with his current role on the Warriors squad. He has been put into the backup point guard role since he’s been drafted, and he has only averaged 5.9 minutes per game since last season. The Warriors touted Nedovic very high on their draft board, and now they have wasted it. He didn’t really get much of a chance on the team and he even said he was confused about it.

“I just care about minutes and playing time,” Nedovic told The Oakland Tribune last week. “It’s confusing a little bit (not playing), but it is what it is.”

There is a chance the Warriors could regain some of the $1.1 million they would lose from Nedovic’s contract. There are a couple teams in Europe that would love to have Nedovic back in Serbia. He has to clear waivers first, and then the team would have to buy out his contract so that he can go overseas. For now, Nedovic will have to wait and see if there are any other NBA teams that are in need of his services.
