(Video) Why Tony Wroten is a Knick

This New York Knicks season has been another never ending roller coaster. Although Phil Jackson has certainly struck gold with Kristaps Porzingis, but his arrival along with the improved all-around play of Carmelo Anthony hasn’t been enough to turn the tide for the Knickerbockers in this Phil Jackson era. With KP and Melo holding down the interior, guard play has been utterly suspect in New York this season. Signing Tony Wroten makes absolute sense if he is able to recapture any of the promise he showed last season before tearing his ACL.

Injuries have always been an issue for Wroten, dating back to his high school career at Seattle’s perennial powerhouse: Garfield High School (also home to Brandon Roy). His jump-shot maybe inconsistent, but Wroten’s upside is unquestionable. A 6’6 guard who can man either spot, if healthy Wroten can give the Knicks a steady hand in the backcourt. Will his signing push the Knicks into the Playoffs? Chances are slim… But Wroten can certainly team with KP and Melo to bring some life and excitement back into the Garden.
