Remember my sister that scored on Michael Jordan when she played him one-on-one? Tasha Pointer, along with Jordan himself, was one of my first basketball role models. I was 10 years old when my sister, Hall of Fame coach Vivian Stringer, and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights advanced to the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament. My parents were at this game. I watched on TV. Looking back now, Tasha was still the coldest.

Peep the between-the-legs chop game in transition, the euro-step which was completely ahead of her time, and a general sauciness that you couldn’t find in any other point guard in the women’s game at that time.
