VIDEO: Rajon Rondo makes Mavericks debut vs. Spurs

The newest member and starting point guard for the Dallas Mavericks made his debut against the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night.

Rajon Rondo was traded to Dallas this week by the Boston Celtics.

In the Mavericks’ 99-93 win, due larger in part to Monta Ellis’ 38 points, Rondo finished with only six points on 3-for-11 shooting, but in typical Rondo fashion, grabbed seven rebounds and dished nine assists. Rondo is still the league leader in assists.

Though it’s nowhere close to the potential product, and even though Dallas faced a depleted Spurs team in their Rondo trial run, you saw the impact of having Rondo on the floor on countless occasions. It’s simply his effort, leadership, and understanding of winning plays that will help progress this Mavericks team. Check the highlights from Rondo’s debut in Dallas below.
