John Wall dazzled in the Washington Wizards’ 114-107 Game 1 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday afternoon, finishing the contest with 32 points and 14 assists to led his team.

After a sluggish first half, the Wizards perked up in the third quarter, where they used a Wall and Markieff Morris led blitz to open things up. Wall finished the third period with 15 points and four assists, tilting both the game and momentum in the Wizards’ favor.

Wall has struggled to shoot the ball in the postseason during his career thus far, so his efficient offensive showing on Sunday should serve as a sign of encouragement for the Wizards as they hope to make a deep playoff run that hinges on the ability of Wall to play close this level throughout the playoffs. Let’s see if he’s up to the task.

Washington will resume their series with Atlanta on Wednesday at 7:00 PM before departing to Atlanta for Game’s 3 and 4 on April 22 and 24 respectively.
