Well, there is basically one bright spot for the Sixers and that is Jahlil Okafor. He displayed that last night when he went head-to-head versus his 2015 NBA Draft foe, Karl-Anthony Towns. Okafor dominated the performance with 25 points and 12 rebounds versus Towns who was in foul trouble for most of the game and could only produce 6 points in 19 minutes of play.

The one thing that was one of the most baffling things of the night was the Okafor didn’t touch the ball in the final five minutes.

Bob Cooney had this to say on the siutation:

Okafor finished with 25 points and 12 rebounds, but inexplicably, didn’t get a shot attempt in the last five minutes of the game. It was during that time the Sixers lost a six-point lead, getting outscored, 20-9, over the final four minutes, 58 seconds as they dropped to 0-15 on the season after the 100-95 setback.

In my opinion, the sole reason the Sixers lost was not getting to your ONLY player who was having an offensively dominant game. It was poor coaching on the part of Brett Brown and now the Sixers are in real danger of breaking their own franchise record losing streak they set last season.

There are rumors out there that the Sixers should attempt to trade Okafor for D’Angelo Russell along with a pick since the Sixers are so guard desperate.

This would be the worst thing the Sixers could do, hypothetically. Trading away a guy it took basically three drafts to find for a guy who still hasn’t even established a presence for himself in Los Angeles would be asinine.

Keep Okafor, he will be a top NBA player in four to five years. Let the guards come to you in the next couple seasons because we aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. Okafor is the Ariana Grande of the NBA, coming on to scene and taking it by storm with no looking back.
