DeAndre Ayton- Center, 7’0, 220 lbs.

HOMETOWN: Phoenix AZ, Hillcrest Academy.

COLLEGE SIGNED: Arizona Wildcats.

Pros: 7-feet is something you just can’t teach. I’m sure any coach would enjoy having a guy like Ayton on their roster. The kid runs the floor well to be 7’0, he play’s above the rim, he can score from either inside or out, has solid court vision and also good strength down low. He can handle the rock, has tremendous floor vision and plays with good energy on the court.

Cons: Needs to continue getting stronger. Sometimes he relies on the outside shot way too much. Needs to continue to develop his post game. The guy has the potential to make a lot of money in a few years. Often times big guys don’t necessarily hold up to the hype in the critics’ eyes. The kid has an opportunity to be great if he continue to stay in the gym and work hard on his craft. Remember the name!

Michael Porter Jr. – Small Forward, 6’10, 212 lbs.

HOMETOWN: Seattle WA, Nathan Hale High School.

COLLEGE SIGNED: Washington.

Pros: Michael Porter Jr. can rack up a stat sheet! At 6’10 with possibly a 7’0 wingspan this kid has a chance to make a huge impact on the court for years to come. He can score, he finishes well at the rim, has a solid touch on his shot on the perimeter and mid-range. He’s athletic, he looks to get to the basket often and also a solid ball handler. Decent passer, he also shows great effort on the defensive end as well.

Cons: Needs to put on more weight, quicker on the release with his shot, develop more body control when attacking the basket along with better-shot selection. Work at becoming quicker and improving his speed for his size. The kid has a lot of potential and I believe he will be a huge success for both college and the NBA in years to come.

Wendall Carter- Power Forward, 6’9, 254 lbs.

HOMETOWN: Atlanta GA, Pace Academy.

COLLEGE SIGNED: Duke.

Pros: Wendall Carter is a beast! The kid is strong, tough and physical on the court. Any opposing player will need to bring it each and every night. Tremendous shot blocker — he can rebound, defend and has good post moves inside. He’s a strong dunker who doesn’t shy away from contact. I’m sure Coach K can’t wait until this guy arrives on campus!

Cons: Consistently developing his speed, work at becoming faster/quicker at his position. Continue to work on his footwork and inside game abilities. Improve running the floor in transition. Improve his shot both inside and out. If Wendell Carter continues to develop his game and fix the need errors, this guy has the talent to make a lot of noise at the next level. Be on the look out!
