According to Jerry Zgoda of the Minnesota Star Tribune, Timberwolves guard Kevin Martin, who broke his right wrist in a win over the New York Knicks last week, will undergo surgery to repair the injury on Tuesday.

Zgoda reports that Martin has chosen to get surgery opposed to letting his wrist heal in a cast because it will get him back on the court sooner. Martin is slated to get a screw placed in his wrist to help with the healing process.

Kevin Martin was having an excellent start to the season for the Timberwolves, averaging 20.4 points and 3.7 rebounds per game on 48% shooting from the field, and from three. Martin scored 37 points during the game in which he broke his wrist, a season high for the 31-year-old.
