Tonight’s Cleveland Cavaliers/San Antonio Spurs battle will be the first time Cavs guard Kyrie Irving steps foot in San Antonio since his near attempted murder of the Spurs last March. On that night: 03/12/2015, Uncle Drew could not be contained. He lit up the Spurs for 57 Points, 5 assists and 4 steals; shooting an incredible 20/32 from the field (7/7 from Deep, 10/10 from the line). Mind you, last year’s Cavs included Kevin Love and a certain guy from Akron. These weren’t the Cavs of old with Kyrie and Dion Waiters leading the charge.

What Kyrie did that night was simply phenomenal — efficient, stunning, jaw-dropping. Against one of the better defensive teams in the league, Irving went beyond the zone. He went unconscious. Displaying that silky smooth jumpshot, yo-yo like ball-handling, and his insane ambidextrous, Kyrie showed off the offensive arsenal that pushed the Cleveland Cavaliers to select him no. 1 overall in the 2011 NBA Draft despite Irving playing just 11 Games at Duke. Heck, he showed the world that night why LeBron felt compelled to ditch his SuperFriends in Miami to return Home. Dropping 57 is one thing, doing it to the Spurs on the Road in a win? That’s straight up FILTHY!

Coach Pop grew tired of seeing Tony Parker get torched, so he put Danny Green on Irving. NO BUENO. So, Kawhi tried his hand at stopping Kyrie. Negative. Tim Duncan would surely protect the paint right? YEAHH RIGHT. The kid fried the defending champs on seemingly every possession, en route to eclipsing LeBron’s franchise record 56 points to cement his own at the top for the Cavs record book.
