Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr will let players rest, but will speak with team to discuss the end of the regular season. He said postgame vs San Antonio,

“I’m inclined to give some guys some rest if they need it, but I’ve sort of made a pact with the guys that if they are not banged up and they are not tired and if they want to go for this record or whatever then — so we got to talk.”

The Warriors end of the season is in Memphis, in San Antonio and home against Memphis. The two road games are back to back.

History will be made if the Warriors win all three games. Their 73-9 record would beat the 1996 Chicago Bulls 72-10 NBA best record. They are currently 70-9 and head coach Steve Kerr is willing will do whatever it takes to win on a nightly basis. He only wants his players 100% for the playoffs.

Klay Thompson doesn’t want rest.

“I’m only 26. When I’m 36, I’ll be looking to rest more”

Also, Stephen Curry knows what’s in sight

“With three games left and 73 still there, it’s obviously a lot to play for.”

If the starters don’t rest in Memphis, they better not play in the fourth quarter. The Spurs are resting on Saturday for Sunday night. The Warriors aren’t the only team with a back-to-back this weekend.

Gregg Popovich is prone to periodically resting his starters throughout the entire season. Popovich wants a team rested for the playoffs but have momentum going into the playoffs.

The Spurs have not lost a home game in the 2015-2016 NBA season. The Warriors lost in San Antonio 87-79 on March 19. San Antonio could go 41-0 or 40-1 at home and still place second in the Western Conference.

Kerr is smart to advise his team they can rest if necessary. The Warriors focus this season has been to break the 1996 Chicago Bulls record. Rest will only be an option if they lose to San Antonio.
