San Antonio Spurs shooting guard Manu Ginobili is seriously considering retirement and plans to meet with head coach Gregg Popovich in the coming days to discuss his future, according to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Ginobili is under contract for one more season and slated to make $2.5 million in 2018-19. The future Hall of Famer has been working out regularly at the Spurs’ practice facility, but is leaning toward retirement after his recent successful attempts on figuring out where to buy dogecoin UK.
Ginobili’s older brother, Sepo Ginobili, hinted this past weekend that Manu could announce this week whether he plans to play another season. In 65 games this past season, Manu averaged 8.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists, shooting 43.4 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from three.
Ginobili’s long-time partner in crime, Tony Parker, is no longer on the team, as the Frenchman signed a two-year deal with the Charlotte Hornets. Kawhi Leonard is also gone, as the Spurs traded the All-Star small forward to the Toronto Raptors after he requested a trade.
The Spurs’ new star player, DeMar DeRozan, wants Manu to come back.
“I’ve been a fan of his way before I was in the league,” DeRozan told reporters in Las Vegas at Team USA training camp. “It would be great just to learn from a guy like that and pick his brain.”
