After endless rumors over the years, The Hollywood Reporter has brought word that Justin Lin, Andrew Dodge, and Alfredo Botello are officially in the process of co-writing a script for Space Jam 2 starring LeBron James. Lin (The Fast & Furious 6, Star Trek Beyond) will reportedly be directing and producing under his Perfect Storm Entertainment company.

THR sources claim that the Space Jam sequel script is still early in the process.

LeBron and his SpringHill Entertainment company signed a deal with Warner Bros. in July, which further escalated rumors about the film.

The original Space Jam, released in 1996, starred Michael Jordan and earned over $230 million worldwide.
