The Breakdown:

If you were to tell me back in the summer of 2012 that Hassan Whiteside was going to be a starting caliber player and one of the top centers in the league, I would be calling you crazy.

Now after three years in Miami, the 7-footer looks to improve yet again. This past season, Whiteside averaged career highs in points and rebounds (which led the league).

Whitesides block numbers did drop a little (two years ago averaged 3.7 blocks). His career in South Beach started off as a guy who searched for the block. This past season, however, as a full-time starter, we saw an improved Whiteside, looking more as a reliable defender and post scorer on offense.

If the trend continues, look for Hassan Whiteside to become more of a threat on both sides of the ball. The one improvement I would say that needs to be worked on is his free throws, where he shot 63% from the line last season.

The Miami Heat were close to making the playoffs last year. The team has pretty much been kept the same except for the new additons of Kelly Olynyk and Bam Adebayo. Both can definitely ease some pressure off Whiteside, which can hopefully bring Miami back in the playoff hunt. At 28 years old, we can expect to see him in the Society Top 50 for years to come.

While he is No. 32 on our list of Top 50 players, Whiteside is in the Top 5 for best social media accounts in the NBA, most recently posting mutiple snapchat videos about the dancing hotdog taking over snapchat.

The Hassan Whiteside Era in Miami should be fun to watch for years to come.
