On Episode 35 of the Schmidt Talking Podcast, Alec Walt and Kyle Allan speak on the three seniors Courtney Stockard, LaDarian Griffin, and Nelson Kaputo. Courtney Stockard is coming off a great end to his redshirt junior season averaging 22.1 points per game in his final six games and averaging 13.3 points overall in the season. Bonnies fans are looking for Stockard to pick up where he left offseason with an increase in statistics and a role as a leader of this team.

LaDarian Griffin is coming off a season where he took home the Atlantic 10’s most improved player averaging 8.8 ppg going from 2.2 ppg in his sophomore season. He will have a huge role in this offense and will be able to once again provide Schmidt with a player who is athletic on the inside. Nelson Kaputo rounds out the seniors as he will start the season at point guard and running the offense and showing leadership to the guards below him.

Fellow St. Bonaventure graduate Chuckie Maggio tweeted out that the buzz around St. Bonaventure is freshman Dominick Welsh has been turning heads in practice and already has seemed to be gelling well in Schmidt’s offense.

It will be interesting to see what type of game Welsh has when he steps up against fellow college opponents. Welsh scored over 2700 points during his high school career so he has shown his ability to score right away when given the opportunities.

As a bonus discussion, Alec and Kyle started the show discussing Mo Allie-Cox’s time as an Indianapolis Colt playing tight end for their depleted wideout roster.
