Before going down with an ankle injury against the Orlando Magic on November 7th, Minnesota Timberwolves guard Ricky Rubio had only played in five games. Things are looking bright for the Spaniard though, as he is expected to return to the lineup within the next two or three weeks. In an article by Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports, Spears reassured that Rubio would be back in form and ready to go by mid-January.

In an interview with Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune, Rubio sounds tired of not being able to suit up for Minnesota:

“I wish,” Rubio said Saturday when asked if he knows when he will play again. “I’ve been saying it’s two weeks for the last month. I don’t want to say anymore dates. I’ve been saying in two weeks I think I’ll be ready and two weeks go by and I still can’t play and I get mad. I don’t want to get in a bad mood again. I’m not going to ask for a date again. I go as my body will let me do.”

He went on to say, “I came back from a tougher one with an ACL,” and “I have experience. I know how hard it is. I’m going to take it easier this time. I think I pushed too much the last time.”

Rubio will be returning to what already is a lost season for the Timberwolves, as they have one of the worst records in the NBA at 5-24. In five games for the T’Wolves, Rubio averaged 9.4 points and 10 assists per game.
