Houston Rockets players and coaches believe that small forward Carmelo Anthony has played his final game for the franchise, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN.

Anthony signed a one-year deal with the Rockets in the summer after getting traded by the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Atlanta Hawks, and then reaching a buyout agreement with Atlanta. The 10-time All-Star has appeared in 10 games this season and is averaging 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds while shooting 40.5 percent from the field and 32.8 percent from beyond the arc.

The Rockets are 5-7 on the season. Houston will owe Carmelo Anthony the full $2.4 million he signed for if they waive him.

In the 10 games Carmelo Anthony has played in, Houston has a net rating of minus-9.0 with Anthony on the court and minus-0.2 with him on the bench, per NBA.com. The Rockets have the fourth-worst offense in the NBA, and Anthony’s iso-ball has been slowing their offense down tremendously.

Many thought playing with point guard Chris Paul and shooting guard James Harden would help Carmelo Anthony in Houston, but that hasn’t been the case at all. Could this be the end of Anthony’s Hall of Fame career? It’s a strong possibility.
