Is the art of the mid-range game dead? Many individuals say it’s not. If that’s the case, then why is there so much grief for Carmelo Anthony? In this episode of the Pump Fake to the Altar podcast, your hosts Felix John-Baptiste and DJ Allen discuss the prolific scorer. He has operated in the mid-range his entire career and has become a top-20 all-time points leader by doing so. Recently waived by the Atlanta Hawks, it’s widely assumed that Anthony will join his friend Chris Paul on the Houston Rockets. Anthony could be poised for a bounce-back season after a short stint with the OKC Thunder. Can Anthony reclaim his position as a lethal scorer in the NBA? It remains to be seen, but the West will be absolutely stacked with All-Star talent conference-wide.

The boys also look at the aspects of the Kawhi Leonard trade. Who won the trade? How will Kawhi play on his new team? They delve into all angles of the deal and discuss which team will have the better ’18-’19 season. DeMar DeRozan will look to get fully acclimated to the Spurs system as quickly as possible if they want their playoff streak to continue. Kawhi will have to play great in a “prove it” year, as he’s coming off two major injuries.
