You know the old saying you look good, you feel good? Well that can be the case when it comes to NBA jerseys. As an avid jersey collector I see the importance of having great uniform sets so I decided to have a ranking of my own. Not only will I be ranking the teams home and away jersey sets, but I will also be factoring in the teams alternate, hardwood classic and any other uniforms the teams will be wearing this season. Let’s start off with the teams ranked #30-#26.

30. Los Angeles Clippers (Three different sets)

  • Alternate (black)

The Clippers went with a whole new look last year under the Steve Balmer era and honestly I am not a fan. The Clippers logo on their home uniforms look like they were taken straight from the NBA Live logo. The front of the away jersey just does not look right with the logo and number printed right next to it. The third black alternate jersey is actually not too bad.

I understand the team wanted to start a new era since Steve Balmer took over but I was a bigger fan of the previous jerseys. The script of “Clippers” on the front for the home jersey and “Los Angeles” on the away and alternate jerseys looked a lot nicer. Not to mention that their forth sky blue sleeve jersey made it a nice of uniforms for the team.

Speaking of blue, if blue is one of the main colors why was the alternate jersey not blue?

29. Atlanta Hawks (Four different sets)

  • Hardwood Classic (from the Pete Maravich era)

Like the Clippers, the Atlanta Hawks went with a complete overhaul last season with a new logo, colors and jerseys. And like the previous ranked team, I am not a fan of these either. The pac-man style logo is not too bad, it is the jerseys that just seem odd to me, more like a college style uniform with their bright colors. What seems even more odd is that for some games the Hawks switched up the jersey/short combo.

Call me old school but I liked the original uniforms. The pac-man logo on the shorts seemed to blend well with the whole uniform. I am a fan of the Pete Maravich style uniforms bringing back the Hawks of the 1970s. The color combination of the blue with green stripes will be a nice break from those other horrible uniforms.

After coming off one their most successful seasons in franchise history before the change, why even change them in the first place?

28. New Orleans Pelicans (four different sets)

One word to describe the Pelicans jerseys. Bland. The navy blue away is the best one but the white home just seems boring to me. The red alternate jersey is well…very red. The Mardi Gras uniform is a good concept since it is a way to connect with the city but my God these are just ugly. The purple is fine but by making it a sleeve with the green stripe on the shoulder makes it look like they are wearing backpacks. If they were not sleeved we may have a different discussion.

27. Washington Wizards (six different sets)

The Wizards have a total of six different uniform options this season. For some reason with the home and away, I do no like the single stripe going across the number. The blue alternate is a nice because of the plain blue and no stripes across the front. The pride sleeved jerseys are different but the all red concept just does not seem right. I am a fan however of the new Stars and Stripes jerseys that will debut November 11th.

I really would not mind if the Stars and Stripes and the blue alternate were the main jerseys. The current home and away just do not look right. The last overhaul they had in jerseys look a lot better. The white home, blue away and gold alternate in my opinion were way better options then what they have now.

26. Memphis Grizzlies (four different sets)

The Memphis jerseys look boring. Now I do like the colors they used in white, dark and light blue but maybe they could of gone with a better design concept with those colors. The team is also unveiling a new alternate uniform called the MLK50 Pride uniform. Memphis joined forces with the National Civil Rights Museum at the historic Lorraine Motel to work on these jerseys

The MLK50 Pride is for remembrance of the 50th Anniversary of Dr. King’s assassination. The uniforms will be first worn on January 15th vs. Chicago. Minus the sleeves I am actually a fan of these. The teal and white lining go well with the black uniform base, not to mention these have an historic background.

Like my list so far? Do you agree/disagree so far with the ranking? Let me know @FonzyDeFalco and keep on the look out for the rest of my ranking.
