Hello all and welcome back to the second part of my NBA uniform rankings. Last week I started off the list with teams ranked 30-26 and now I continue with my rankings with #25 to #21.

25. Minnesota Timberwolves (three different sets)

  • Alternate (black sleeved)

The Timberwolves color concepts are not bad with the light blue, white and black. The blue away jersey is not bad with the only thing bothering me is the larger M and A on the front. The alternate black adopted the sleeve concept a few years back and while I am not a sleeve guy, these actually do not look that bad. I am really not a fan of the “Wolves” wording on the home and alternate jerseys. The name of the team is the Timberwolves, so having a jersey with the actual team on the front would be a start. I personally would not be opposed to bringing back the old tree collar uniforms during the Kevin Garnett era.

24. Orlando Magic (five different sets)

  • Stars (black)

Orlando has always been consistent with the pinstripe look for all their jerseys. The three regular jerseys (home, away, alternate) are simple with the classic pinstripe style. The grey pride sleeved jersey that debuted a couple of years ago remind me of an old school baseball team. The Magic also reveled a new “Stars” uniform the features the team logo on the front with the number of the top left corner. These new special jerseys I am not a fan of. I like the base black cover but having a giant logo in the front followed by awkward stripes down the side just does not look right to me.

23. Dallas Mavericks (four different sets)

  • Hardwood Classics (green)

I have always been a fan of the Mavericks home uniforms. The dark blue lettering and light blue numbers go well with the white background. The away uniform I am not a fan of. It seems like every few seasons the team tries to overhaul the away from dark blue to different lettering dark blue to now this. Dallas needs to find a consistent away uniform and maybe change the front font of it. The Mavs brought in a new alternate uniform last season. The concept is nice with the Dallas skyline above the “Dallas” wording. The only problem is that the number placing seems a little awkward having it right in the middle. The green Hardwood Classic is a nice tribute to the Mavericks original days where green was a primary color for them.

22. Toronto Raptors (six different sets)

  • Hardwood Classic (blue)
  • Chinese New Year (red)

Toronto went with a complete overhaul last season with a new logo and four new uniforms. Minus the black and gold one I am not a fan of these. There is really no variety with these except just the different colors. This season the Raptors are debuting two more uniforms in a Hardwood Classic and a Chinese New Year design.

The blue throwbacks are in honor of the Toronto Huskies, who played in the NBA from 1946-47 before disbanding. Both of these new sets are nice and have a design that blends with the colors.

21. Charolette Hornets (four different sets)

  • Pride “Buzz City” (black sleeved)

After an era of being the Bobcats (do not get me even started on those uniforms), the team officially changed back to the Hornets not too long ago. At first when they debut, I thought they were pretty cool. However, seeing how the old Hornets uniforms were before they moved to New Orleans I really think they made a mistake with them. The old pinstripe style looks a lot better then what they are now. The “Buzz City” pride jerseys are okay and a cool way to connect with the city, but the sleeves (in my usual rant) ruin them. Still, maybe we can hope for them to adopt the hardwood classic pinstripe in the near future.

Hope you enjoyed this list of rankings. Stay tuned as #20-16 will be revealed next.
