Karl Anthony Towns, Sr., father of Minnesota Timberwolves forward, Karl Towns recently checked in to the Scoop B Radio Podcast. Press Play Below To Listen!

Retired NBA player, turned TNT analyst, Kevin Garnett thinks the world of Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star, Karl Towns.

Towns is a modern big man that has a solid back to the basket game, a consistent face-up game, a 3-point shot and slick dribble too.

I see a lot of similarities in Karl to myself,” Garnett recent shared with me.

“If I could ever be an inspiration and lead him into that, I’ve always wanted to be that. And the fact that he took heed and took some of the advice I gave him is more than honorable, so it’s dope.”

Earlier this summer on the Scoop B Radio Podcast, Towns’ father, Karl Towns Sr. shared  that Garnett was the best thing that ever happened to him because he “taught Karl how to be a pro.”

Seems true. The two were inseparable Towns’ rookie year in their mentor/teacher role and Towns was named the NBA’s Rookie of the Year in 2016.

After being told of Garnett’s praise, Towns was pleased.I’m very appreciative,” he told me this afternoon.

Towns says he had lunch with KG earlier this week and considers the NBA champion, 15-time NBA All-Star, one time NBA MVP and former NBA Defensive Player of the Year, more than just a former teammate and mentor.

He considers “The Big Ticket” family. “I thank the stars above me and I thank God,” said Towns.

“I have great mentors and such great family and people I call family and he’s just one of ‘em. I see him as nothing but a first ballot Hall of Famer and one of the greatest players to ever play. I see myself chasing him down.”
