Mark Cuban hopes the Lakers stink forever.
During an interview with a Los Angeles radio station on Tuesday, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban gave his unfiltered opinion on the Los Angeles Lakers and their abysmal 2-9 start.
“As far as the Lakers,” Cuban said, “I think there are going to be a lot of teams that are going to be focusing and saying, ‘Look, I’ve got a ton of cap room, free agents A, B and C, why don’t you guys come together and come play for me?’ And L.A. has always been considered a destination, so maybe they feel there’s a valid strategy. You know me, Fred. Personally, I just hope they suck forever.”
Stuff like this is why you have to appreciate Mark Cuban. He truly does care about the Mavericks and the NBA, and he’s a cutthroat competitor who isn’t afraid to discuss anything. He’s been fined a handful of times throughout his tenure as the Mavericks owner, but his tendency to take barbs at anyone is refreshing in a league where majority of the owners seem to be cordial.
