Mark Cuban says Clintons were smart to get paid from giving speeches, unlike Trump because ‘we don’t see his taxes’

The intersection of race and sports has been a cyclical theme, ala Colin Kaepernick’s kneeling, NBA athletes like LeBron James and Colin Kaepernick being vocal about racism in society and U.S. President Donald Trump’s response to all of it via Twitter.

Dallas Mavericks owner, Mark Cuban has been vocal about everything from pop culture, ownership, and entrepreneurship.

He’s relatable and likable and with his digital influence and presence on the hit show, Shark Tank, he’s got a reach.

Bad press like last week, in which Michelle Newsome, an African American, filing a petition in Dallas County Court claiming that Cuban has tried to “sweep under the rug” an incident in which a noose was found in a closet across from Cuban’s suite at the arena before a Mavericks game on February 23, 2011 doesn’t help his cause.

Newsome says that when Cuban was told about the noose, he simply threw it in the trash.

Cuban defended his name last week:

“The complainant was an employee of the AAC [American Airlines Center], she did not work for me,” Cuban said on Friday.

“Nor did any of the other people mentioned. I am a minority investor of the AAC holding company. As such, I am not involved with the day-to-day operations of the arena. You would have to speak to the AAC general counsel for any further information.”

According to an article in Newsmax last fall, Cuban has strong backing from voters aged 18 to 29,  voters with household incomes between $50,000 and $75,000 and Democrats. According to a similar study in that article, Cuban appeared to be the choice more of young Democrats than typical Republican voters.

Former U.S. President, Barack Obama and current U.S. President Donald Trump have made the office of president attractive to folks who have not been lifetime politicians.

Many believe Cuban could make a run for the presidency as an independent candidate in 2020.

In 2016, Cuban was vocal on everything Trump; even specifying why Hillary Clinton is a better negotiator than Donald Trump.

But why?

“You know Hillary has had to actually do large-scale treaties, a large-scale policy so that’s one thing,” Mark Cuban told me on Scoop B Radio.

“So, she’s had to deal with things on a global basis, maybe she didn’t do them all by herself, but she’s had to deal with a lot of inner-country, interagency things but that really wasn’t even the biggest point. The bigger point was the Clintons, Hillary, and Bill.”

Added Cuban:

“Bill recognized he could make a lot of money giving speeches and when you recognize that you could make a lot of money doing something, what’s the natural thing to do, you do more of it. If someone came up to you guys and said look I want to pay you $200,000 to do a 2-hour speech, what are you going to say?”

Cuban surely understands that. Self-promoting, free-enterprising and self-promoting is the name of the game these days.

“Bill, in particular, has gone out there and made a real business out of giving speeches, negotiating great deals so he’s making more per speech and he’s making a boatload of money and paid a boatload of taxes,” said Cuban.

“That’s being a good negotiator, that’s being a good business person. Donald [Trump] on the other hand, we don’t know, because we don’t see his taxes but there’s nothing to demonstrate that he’s got it down. He’s done a good job in real estate, but you’re not going to look at him and say, boy this guy is really getting it all done.”
