The third day of March Madness is in the books and we can officially say that the madness has begun. The round of 32 has seen its fair share of upsets, but nothing as huge as #1 Villanova going down. If a number 1 goes down this early, then it’s time to declare the Madness.

Stars of March Madness Day 3:
Nigel Hayes – F, Wisconsin
Statistics: 19 points/8 rebounds/Game-Winner
Hayes was a big part of Wisconsin’s upset of #1 seeded Villanova in the second round of the NCAA tournament. He finished the game with 19 points and 8 rebounds but none more important than his baseline score that gave Wisconsin the lead towards the end of the game. With Wisconsin riding high off beating the #1 seed, they look to continue their great run spearheaded by Nigel Hayes.
Jevon Carter – G, West Virginia
Statistics: 24 points/3 rebounds/2 assists
Carter’s 24 points led the Mountaineers to a 12 point win over Notre Dame. He shot 8/15 for the entire game including 4/5 shots from downtown. While he’s mostly known for his defense, he came to compete on the other side of the ball as well providing a spark for West Virginia’s scoring. If West Virginia wants to continue their solid run, they would have to expect Carter to contribute a little more in the scoring department, not necessarily 24 points a game, but solid numbers to get the job done.
Trevon Bluiett – G, Xavier
Statistics: 29 points/6 rebounds/3 assists
Bluiett led all scorers in the game with 29 points as he helped lead the Xavier Musketeers to an upset win over the Seminoles. Trevon was just balling for the Musketeers, hitting 3 shots from downtown and getting to the line 14 times and make 10 of them. With this win, Bluiett and the Musketeers go into the Sweet 16 with the momentum that they look to use in order to make a deep run and call themselves the Cinderella of March Madness.
