A second championship for the city of Cleveland and their beloved Cavaliers didn’t happen on Friday when the Golden State Warriors swept them Friday evening.

Another Cavs finals loss beckons the question: where will LeBron James take his free agency talents to next?

The Lakers, a return to Cleveland with a super max deal, teaming with Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers or a Houston Rockets super team that includes Chris Paul and James Harden are all viable options, for sure.

Can’t sleep on Gregg Popovich and the San Antonio Spurs either.

Readers beware: don’t sleep on a Miami Heat and LeBron James reunion.

I first introduced the idea to Zach Gelb back in February on CBS Radio.

James experienced a winning culture in South Beach alongside good friend, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh during the Heat Big 3 era.

With Wade back in the fold, and Heat president Pat Riley having a track record of equipping James with a strong supporting cast; don’t sleep!

Heat guard, Justise Winslow is ready for a James, Heat reunion.

While the Sixers and Boston Celtics are young and exciting teams, the Miami Heat have a young core, too. They could have used the 15-year vet against the Sixers in the playoffs.

Should James decide to stay in the NBA’s Eastern Conference and a Miami reunion is of interest, Miami Heat GM Andy Ellisburg has some work to do in clearing cap space.

Miami’s South Beach will always be a desired destination for other free agents looking to team with James and compete for a championship.

But for a player as heavily courted as James this offseason, nothing is impossible.
