The Golden State Warriors shocked the world when they added DeMarcus Cousins to their already impressive roster that includes Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green.

The Los Angeles Lakers did some fine tuning this summer when they signed LeBron James and added Lance Stephenson, Michael Beasley, JaVale McGee to an already impressive young roster that includes Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma and Brandon Ingram.

Basketball Society’s Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson talks LeBron James, Lakers & more on ESPN Radio.

But here’s a real question: Do the Lakers have enough to beat the Golden State Warriors?

“I’ll tell you what, when you got #23 only your side, LeBron James, you got a chance, no doubt about that,” former NBA head coach and Los Angeles Lakers great, Byron Scott told me on the Scoop B Radio Podcast.

Scott is the guy to talk to, he’s about as LA as you can get. An alum of Inglewood, CA’s Morningside High School, Scott was drafted fourth by the Lakers in the 1983 NBA Draft. He’d win three championships during the Lakers’ Showtime era alongside NBA Hall of Famers, Magic Johnson and James Worthy. Scott even coached the purple and gold for two seasons and was the last coach that Kobe Bryant ever had.

So to the case of this season’s Lakers, Mr Scott? “It might be a slim chance, but they got a chance,” he said.

“I looked at the series last year with Golden State, they pretty much dominated the the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron was just putting up bad numbers. But LeBron has more talent with his Laker team than he’s had with the last couple of seasons with Cleveland. So if there’s a chance, I think their chance would be greater next year. They still have to add another big time player to go alongside LeBron to have a chance to head to the series.”
