It might not have been the ideal start to the LeBron James era but the purple and gold have found some success in the early stages of the 2018-2019 season. Following the Lakers 101-86 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Saturday, Los Angeles moved their record to .500 with a 6-6 record through 12 games.

In this episode, hosts Randy King and B.J. Boyer jumped inside the Lakers Lair to dissect and analyze the Lakers last few games and what trends have become evident. Heading into the Sacramento game the Lakers ranked first in fast-break points, first in points in the paint, and third in FG%. Three balls help too.

The Lakers added a new member to their squad in an effort to help their front-court, that member was none other than 17-year veteran and former NBA champion with the Dallas Mavericks, Tyson Chandler. Chander was claimed off of waivers on November 6th, and it did not take long for his impact to be felt. In his debut game for the purple and gold when the Minnesota Timberwolves came into town, Chandler contributed two points, eight rebounds in 23 minutes played.

Karl Anthony-Towns started off the game going 5-6 from the field, he ended the game 5-16. And who was slotted on him majority of the second half when Minnesota? It was Tyson Chander, secruing those offensive rebounds, setting big-strong lumbering screens. I love what I saw from Tyson Chandler and what he can give us moving forward.” – BJ Boyer

“The impact that he has on the court is not nearly as important as the impact he has in the locker room. I’m excited to what he can teach Moe Wagner in how to be a solidifed center.” – Randy King

Later in the episode, King and Boyer would go on to discuss the difficulties of another new member to the Lakers in Michael Beasley and how he has failed to gain any playing time in this roster. Beasley has only appeared in three games playing just over 10 minutes combined.

“It’s not looking good for Beasley. It’s unfortunate because he played pretty well last season for the Knicks and I was excited to have him but with players like Kuzma, there’s really no place for him.” – Randy King

“What he brings, doesn’t necessarily fit our roster. What he offers talent wise, we already have. Scoring, we got that. I feel like he is more injury insurance if somebody goes down then he can jump in there and help.” – BJ Boyer

Several other topics were discussed by your two hosts but in order to find out what they said in further detail, you would have to step inside the Lakers Lair. Enjoy!
