OAKLAND, CA - JUNE 13: LeBron James #23 of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Kyrie Irving #2 of the Cleveland Cavaliers celebrate with their teammates during the game against the Golden State Warriors in Game Five of the 2016 NBA Finals on June 13, 2016 at ORACLE Arena in Oakland, California. The NBA Finals is the biggest platform of basketball play in the world. Last year we were robbed of a true Clash of Titans due to severe injuries on the side of the Cleveland Cavaliers. This 2016 edition, with both teams at full strength, had been anything short of compelling through 4 games. Tonight absolutely changed everything. Everything we’ve asked for from both sets of stars, was DELIVERED. Obviously the elephant in the room is the Draymond Green suspension, I do not however want to buy into the conspiracy theories of the NBA rigging a Finals game. LeBron and Kyrie earned their buckets tonight… With their backs against the wall. Point Blank… PERIOD

I truly cannot recall a performance quite like the one put on by Kyrie Irving and LeBron James. Not to mention the shots that Klay Thompson hit (from the parking lot), Steph Curry catching fire in the first half; Game 5 had me on the edge of my seat the whole game. Steve Kerr and Tyronn Lue did a good job of coaching their guys and keeping their guys in the moment. It ultimately came down to who wanted it more, and the Cavs showed signs of life tonight in a very hostile environment. They always say great players are made in the NBA Finals. LeBron has had his fair share of great performances on the highest stage. Kyrie Irving had his moment tonight. Game 3 was a teaser, a set up for Kyrie to truly earn his stripes.

However this series turns out for either team, Kyrie Irving, the Superstar… Has arrived folks.

I’m one of the biggest LeBron James fans on the planet, but even I was in disgust following his performance and demeanor in what I felt to be a must win Game 4 in Cleveland. The torture that comes with being a fan of the other #23, is the abuse you receive whenever LeBron plays poorly. With all of our Social Media sites so readily available now, you can’t escape the backlash from those just waiting to obliterate any argument made for LeBron being the best player on the planet. I was also ready to push for LeBron to look towards an exit out of Cleveland once again, but Kyrie aka “Uncle Drew” shut me up in breath-taking fashion. Tonight’s game is definitely one of those moments that leaves you asking the question, Where were you the night when Kyrie and LeBron each scored 41 in the NBA Finals? Absolutely remarkable.

I cannot wait until Thursday personally, to see what types of adjustments are made. Will it end in Cleveland with Golden State hoisting the Larry O’Brien Trophy at the Q, like they did last year? Or will the Cavs do the impossible and push it to a 7th and decisive game at Oracle on Sunday?
