The great Shaquille O’Neal is getting honored by the Los Angeles Lakers tomorrow night with his own statue outside of the Staples Center. It’s a golden figure of himself doing what he does best, terrorizing the rim with an emphatic dunk. With Shaq receiving such a great honor it made me wonder, what will Kobe Bryant’s figure look like?

Being one of the best players to walk through those Staples Center doors, we all know that a Kobe Bryant statue is on its way. It was a 20-year career for Bryant and the Lakers that included so many memories and incredible moments, so many that I don’t know how the Los Angeles organization is going to choose one. They already have a huge decision of deciding which jersey number of Bryant’s they are going to retire. Some say 8 and some say 24, but I say both. However, when it comes to a statue they can only choose one so why not go through some possible options that would fit along the rest of the Lakers’ royalty.

The Growl

Kobe Bryant Growl

When opponents saw the growl from Kobe Bryant, they knew they were in trouble. Often the growl meant Kobe was going to work and no one could get in his way. We saw that face from Bryant numerous of times but the most memorable were during the playoffs in 2009 and 2010. When he was working on clutch buckets and working towards those two last titles, the Black Mamba came out and with it came the growl.

The Jumper

Kobe’s jumper was one of a kind, especially in the mid-range area. His bread and butter was the one-dribble pull-up. With such a quick first step out of the triple-threat he was able to gain separation and when he got elevation on the jumper, nothing could stop it.

Kobe Bryant is in the record book as the 2nd highest single-game scorer in NBA history. At the hands of the Toronto Raptors, Kobe dropped an astonishing 81 points that will never be forgotten. Bucket after bucket, he stamped himself in NBA royalty as one of the best scorers the NBA has ever seen.

The fade away

As Kobe Bryant began to age, he started to work more and more on his low-post game. He slowly became one of the best low-post players in the league, especially at the guard position. He mastered the fade away jumper that was well-known by Michael Jordan himself. Kobe Bryant made the move one of his own and one of his go-to moves whenever a bucket was needed.
