The Minnesota Timberwolves have the first overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, and they have a very important decision to make as to who they will pick. They have plenty of options to choose from. They can take a big man in Karl-Anthony Towns or Jahlil Okafor, or they could go the guard route with D’Angelo Russell or Emmanuel Mudiay. All of these four options could be a great pick for the Timberwolves as they all have very high ceilings.

Legendary Timberwolve Kevin Garnett, who was traded to the team in the middle of the season, is now part of the draft process for his team’s franchise. He understands how important of a pick this is for the team moving forward, as they build around young stars Andrew Wiggins and Zach Lavine.

Darren Wolfson of 1500ESPN confirmed that Garnett is working with the team’s front office on the decision:

This is a smart move on the Timberwolves’ part as they have been known to make bad decisions in the draft. Remember when they made the decision to draft two point guards in Johnny Flynn and Ricky Rubio in the same round?

Having Garnett in on the decision-making process gives the front office a player’s voice in the decision, as he can have a different outlook than maybe someone who has only worked on the business side of basketball versus being on the court. This also makes sense as there have been rumors in Garnett wanting to work in the team’s front office or eventually try to purchase the team.
