Joel Embiid

Joel Embiid is known for being quite the social media savant. He loves to have fun and talk smack to the opposition. If you get beaten bad by Embiid nowadays, you can almost guarantee to see some trash talk from Joel on Instagram or Twitter.

The most notable player he has had a few back and forths with is Andre Drummond. After seeing Embiid absolutely demolish Drummond in their match-up today, thought it was time to do a little research on Joel Embiid’s play against the big man in Detroit. Is the trash talk actually helping? Joel Embiid has always said that he has real estate in his head so lets see how true that is.

Aaaaaaand, just on queue, look what Embiid just posted on Twitter!

Joel Embiid is seriously the best if you haven’t realized that yet.

But, back to the issue at hand. Let’s see, numbers wise, exactly how Embiid fares when he goes up against Drummond:

Joel Embiid:

Record: 4-1

30.0 PTS, 11.2 REB, 0.6 STL, 1.2 BLK, 53.3 FG%, 82.2 FT%

Andre Drummond

Record: 1-4

12.0 PTS, 11.6 REB, 2.6 STL, 1.0 BLK, 41.5 FG%, 64.0 FT%

It’s pretty evident that Joel Embiid has always gotten the better of Andre Drummond by a good margin. Every time you see Embiid go up against Drummond, he seems to be a totally different player. He seems to clearly have real estate in his head as he puts it. This makes us think that he absolutely should continue doing this with big men in the NBA.

So, this is a personal note to you Embiid:

Continue calling out all of these big men in the league to prove that you truly are the best. We’ll sit back here and enjoy the show.
