Jason Terry has never shied away from spotlight or hidden his confidence. This is the same guy that while with the Dallas Mavericks back in 2011, he tattooed the Larry O’Brien Trophy on his bicep to ensure that they would win the Championship that year. They went on to beat the Miami Heat in the Finals, solidifying Terry’s bold statement. And now, it seems Jason Terry is back to his old ways. While facing a 1-3 deficit to the Golden State Warriors, he has made another prediction via Calvin Watkins of ESPN:

“I’m guaranteeing it,” said the 38-year-old Terry. “If I don’t, then what? It’s a loss, right. I guarantee victory — that’s what it’s going to take. I believe in my group. I know we can get a win here and send this thing back to Houston.”

“I’m saying right here in front of everybody, I’m getting a tattoo of a Rockets trophy if we pull this thing out,” he said smiling. “You [heard] it here first.”

I get it. You want to pump confidence into your team in this win or go home situation and you want your team to believe you can pull this off, but come on man. The Houston Rockets have been blown out in every loss that they’ve suffered this series including Game 4 where Steph Curry missed most of the game. Do they have a shot? Absolutely. But will they pull it off? I highly doubt it.

The Golden State Warriors know what they’re up against and they know they will be playing without their superstar. But like in previous games, others will have to step up and get the job done to fill that void like they have. The Warriors are a confident bunch and Coach Kerr has them set up for victory with their style of play. If Game 5 leads to another blow out in Oracle Arena in favor of the Warriors, Jason Terry better be ready for all the ‘crying Jordan face’ memes that will prevail after.
