As the NBA’s reigning MVP, James Harden made many fantastic plays throughout this year’s NBA season.

One of the most dynamic players?

Revert your mental Rolodex to February 28, 2018. The Houston Rockets vs. Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center during a nationally televised game on ESPN.

It was on that day that James Harden simultaneously put Los Angeles Clippers guard, Wesley Johnson, on skates with his vicious crossover dribble, while also making Johnson resemble a chalk outline seen at a murder scene in hoods nationwide and at the beginning of the Fresh Prince of Bel Air’s theme song.

For those tardy to the party, Harden hit Johnson with a vicious crossover dribble, forcing him to the floor.

Harden then waited for Johnson to get off the floor before shooting and making his jumper with about 1:18 left in the 1st quarter.

See for yourself…

“I was kind of upset with the Clippers players,” Houston Rockets assistant coach, Irv Roland told me on this week’s episode of the Scoop B Radio Podcast.

“If somebody makes your teammate fall, you’ve got to sprint over there and foul the person. That way, he can’t complete the play and he’s not on Instagram all freaking day! I was disappointed in those guys.”

Roland who doubles as a Rockets assistant coach and James Harden’s full-time trainer sat behind Rockets head coach Mike D’Antoni when it all went down and apparently coach D’Antoni was laughing after Harden put Johnson through the blender. “He’s just a tough cover, man,” said Roland.

“I feel bad for a lot of guys who get stuck on that Island.”

Added Roland:

“It’s just one of those things where James offensively one-on-one, he led the league in isolation points and averaged more isolation points than any team, I think.”

With the quarrels that the Clippers and Rockets have this past season, it’d be awesome to see what else is in Harden’s arsenal. With the official signing of Carmelo Anthony, Monday afternoon, can the NBA’s regular season get here any sooner?
