The expectation for a breakout season from Rutgers sophomore guard Geo Baker comes from head coach Steve Pikiell down to Baker himself.
As a freshman, Baker helped the Scarlet Knights make a resounding impression in the Big Ten Tournament last March. He scored 15 points in the second round against Indiana and 25 points against Purdue in the quarterfinals.
Rutgers head coach Steve Pikiell made note of Baker’s increased responsibility during the Big Ten Media Day live presser on Thursday.

I talked with Geo about wanting to be “that guy”, how he’s been preparing for that adjustment, how he describes the team’s identity this season, and more.
I want to be that guy. That’s why I came here, that’s why he (Coach Pikiell) brought me here. That’s the plan to be that guy.
