Fisch’s Friday Rant: All-Star Starters and Voting

In case you haven’t heard already, the starters for the 2017 All-Star game have officially been announced. NBA Twitter was alive and well when everyone found out the big “snubs.” Of course, it’s understandable when a player who is averaging a triple-double did not get voted in as a starter. However, everyone still does need to relax a bit until the reserves are announced next week.

When it comes to All-Star games, we talk about how many appearances each player had. Whether that player is a starter or a reserve, well, it doesn’t matter too much. At the same time, Fridays are for ranting, which means this deserves to be treated as if I’m outraged!

Another hot topic is the way that the voting was handled this season. There was a mix of fans, players, and media members voting this year, and there have been a lot of mixed reviews. Personally, I believe the mix should truly be that, an equal mix. We’ll get into that during the video above though.

Finally, Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks are starting another episode of a weird reality show. Maybe we should call it “The Real Superstars of New York.” Whatever the case may be, Melo needs to make a decision, and one of our writers thinks that decision should be to hit that waive button.
