Baron Davis, Matt Barnes, Al Harrington and Stephen Jackson were part of that magical 8th seed Golden State Warriors squad that beat the top seeded Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the 2007 NBA Playoffs.

See For Yourself:

Averaging 24.6 points, 8.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists, 2007 was Dirk Nowitzki’s MVP season and coming out party. That ‘07 Mavs team had the credentials too: a 67-15 record,  the best the franchise has seen.

Yet, that Mavs team was thwarted in six games by a 42-40 eighth seed Warriors team.

In the words of Charlie Brown: “Good Grief!”

Dirk wasn’t happy either.

According to Hype Magazine’s Landon Buford, Dirk Nowitzki destroyed Oracle Arena’s locker room after the loss.

“Dirk threw a chair,” longtime NBA vet and Nowitzki’s former teammate, Jason Terry told Mavs Fanatic.

“It left a hole in the visitor’s locker at Oracle. It’s still there to this day.”

The Mavs’ loss as per 247Sports’ DJ Siddiqi, was the largest record differential by a winning opponent (25 games) in NBA playoff history.

Dirk Nowitzki did redeem himself from the 2007 NBA Playoffs debacle when he and a Dallas Mavericks team that included Tyson Chandler and Hall of Famer, Jason Kidd beat a LeBron James, Dwyane Wade-led Miami Heat in the 2011 NBA Finals.
