Devonte' Graham

Name: Devonte’ Graham

School: University of Kansas

Year: Senior

Height/Weight: 6’2”, 175 lbs

Strengths:

Devonte’ Graham is a gifted guard who looks like he has what it takes to take the next step. His shiftiness with the basketball makes him dynamic on the offensive end. His craftiness can get him to the rim but he also has the ability to create space and knock down the pull-up jumper as well.

Graham’s solid ball-handling keeps him poised on the offensive end. He does a good job of controlling tempo and knowing when to press the issue which is a quality trait to have as a prospect for the NBA. On the other end of the floor, Devonte’ Graham is no slouch. We love the dog in him to act as a pest on defense and make things difficult on his opponent. He’s active and looking to get a hand or fingertip on the ball at all times.

Where the young guard makes his bread and butter is in transition. He sees the court well and is always willing to make the right play whether that’s passing the rock or going to get his own.

Weaknesses:

One weakness that we see in Devonte’ Graham is his size given his position. He’s a small guard that loves to score the ball. However, only being 6’2”, he’s too small to be a shooting guard in the NBA. The question of whether he’s a 1 or a 2 could be a problem for him going forward. Also, another weakness is his passing.  While he sees the floor well, his passes aren’t always accurate. He has a knack for being sloppy with the basketball at times.

Future Outlook:

We believe that Graham can play at the next level. The things that he does well shows us that he’s ready for that next step. Going forward, the question of whether he can be more of a point guard will be heavily under the microscope. With Frank Mason III gone, he will have the opportunity to take more of a lead guard role and that experience can furthermore help his transition into the NBA. We’re looking to see how Devonte’ Graham’s game evolves as he enters his senior season.

Potential Draft Position:

2nd Round in 2018 NBA Draft
