A few weeks ago, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith boldly predicted that the Los Angeles Lakers would make it to the 2019 NBA Western Conference Finals.

“Me personally, I believe they should get to the Conference Finals and lose to Golden State,” Stephen A. Smith said last month on ESPN’s First Take.

Los Angeles made a splash this summer when they signed the top free agent, LeBron James and added seasoned vets, Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, and Michael Beasley to an already impressive young Lakers roster.

The Golden State Warriors shocked the basketball world when they signed heavily touted free agent, DeMarcus Cousins.

“I believe that the Lakers are on par with everybody else in the Western Conference,” Smith continued.

“That’s what I’m saying.”

Warriors forward, DeMarcus Cousins ain’t impressed with Stephen A’s commentary.  “I don’t really care,” DeMarcus Cousins laughed.

“Fu*k this Stephen A. Smith, I don’t care about that.”

A four-time NBA All-Star and four-time All-NBA selection, there’s a lot of pressure for Cousins to succeed this season.

Cousins is coming off of a serious Achilles’ injury that will likely sideline him until January or February.

When Cousins does come back, some NBA pundits wonder how he’ll gel with a stacked Warriors team that includes Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Kevin Durant. “It’s a team full of high IQs,” DeMarcus Cousins told me.

“I believe everyone on our team has a very high IQ when it comes to the game of basketball.  All of us know how to play the game of basketball.”
