i-4Blake Griffin must appear in court in December.

According to TMZ.com, Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin has been charged with misdemeanor battery after an altercation with a man last month at Tao Nightclub in Las Vegas.

According to Daniel Schuman, the alleged victim, Griffin squeezed his neck and grabbed his phone after becoming irritated by continuous camera flashes. Schuman claims that Griffin demanded he gave up his phone.

Ben Bloch of the Los Angeles Times has more on the situation:

Bolch also tweeted out that a Nevada misdemeanor battery charge with no major bodily harm can carry six months of jail and or $1,000 fine or community service. It is highly unlikely that Griffin sees jail time as he has no prior convictions for violent crimes.

Griffin was in the nightclub with teammates DeAndre Jordan and Chris Paul the night of the incident, but those two were not involved.

Clippers head coach Doc Rivers had this to say about the incident last month:

I trust Blake 100 percent. He’s a great kid. We’ll figure it out and get through it.

I can’t say much, but I feel very confident things will work out.

Despite being aware of the incident, the Clippers had no immediate comment.
