Here comes another stud being produced by the 1 Family Hoops AAU organization. For the Class of 2019 6’7″ small forward Zimife Nwokeji made a name for himself on the Adidas AAU circuit this summer. Zimife is essentially just a big shooting guard at 6’7″ 200lbs who is just labeled as a small forward.

He is another kid that exemplifies versatility when I watch him on film. He seems to be able to shoot the ball well from mid-range and three. He also uses his length to slash the lane fairly well. I enjoyed watching Zimife coming over the weak side for multiple blocks when I sat down and watched him. I think he is an average athlete who if becomes explosive, watch out it could be dangerous. Zimife spoke with me about his recruiting landscape right now.

What schools do you hold offers from at this moment?

Zimife: Florida State, Florida International, Virginia Tech, St. John’s, Florida Gulf Coast, North Florida, James Madison, Missouri, and South Alabama.

What schools are showing at least medium interest who haven’t offered yet?

Zimife: Louisville, Alabama, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Miami, Dayton, Tulsa, Troy, Richmond, Florida, and Central Florida.

Do any of these schools stand out to you that are high on your list?

Zimife: Louisville and Miami are high to me on that list.

What do you consider your strengths and weaknesses on the court?

Zimife: My strengths are that I can create a shot or hit an open shot, handle the ball, rebound, and guard all positions. My weaknesses are that I’m not where I want to be athletically quite yet, passing, and court awareness.

What player do you compare yourself to and why?

Zimife: Jayson Tatum because I am a big guard and by the end of my development I think I will look a lot like him.

What do you do differently than anyone else on the court?

Zimife: I never get agitated or angry with myself or my teammates. If I shoot a shot and miss, the only thing going through my mind is that I will hit the next one.

Is there any particular style of basketball you like to play?

Zimife: I like to be apart of kind of free-lance motion play.

How do you see your game translating on the next level?

Zimife: By being a better passer, making my teammates better.

What are your goals for your junior year?

Zimife: To get Maclay High School as close to winning a state championship as possible.

How was playing with 1 Family Hoops on the Adidas Circuit this summer?

Zimife: It was great having mentors like Coach Brad, Coach Shawn, and Coach Darryl telling me about things I need to fix and clean up about my game.

With utilizing his length at  6’7″ along with his ability to create his own shot through his ball-handling, Zimife is and will be a problem on the offensive end. I see Zimife potentially being a 4-star prospect for the Class of 2019. I believe over time with the ball in his hands it will allow him to develop more of a play making game, making him the ultimate forward.

I expect Zimife to take off with the hot summer he had into his junior year at Alfred B. Maclay (Tallahassee, Florida). With Missouri being one of his most recent offers expect even bigger SEC schools to compete for this prized prospect. We will keep you updated with Zimife’s recruiting process.
