Cappie Pondexter is never one to bite her tongue. Just this weekend, the WNBA star told TMZ Sports that she BARELY makes six figures a woman professional basketball player.

“It’s just getting out of line now,” Pondexter told TMZ.

“I’ve been in the league for 13 years, making the vet minimum, which for me is $113,000 for the last five years, which is nothing compared to what the minimum is and the maximum is for the NBA.”

The pay dispute that WNBA players have is valid.

WNBA star, Brittney Griner was pretty firm and aired out similar grievances. “We should get paid more,” Griner told The Hype Magazine’s Landon Buford.

“I don’t know where it is supposed to come from — that is not my job. That is somebody else’s job, but we should definitely get paid more. There is no reason why should have to go overseas to make a living.”

Pondexter, according to TMZ, says she’s so fed up with it all  that she’s actually willing to be a part of a league-wide work stoppage — if other stars like Diana Taurasi and Elena Delle Donne are down for it.

She wants to see better wages for women in the WNBA in comparison to their NBA counterparts. “I’m not saying that we have to get what they have,” she said.

“But I think we should see some progress at this point.”

A two-time WNBA champion and seven-time WNBA All Star, Pondexter was named to the WNBA’s Top 20 anniversary list in 2016.
