Winning games on an NBA court is surely important. But, winning off the court with by wearing the right threads is equally important these days.

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook, Miami Heat guard, Dwyane Wade and the Cleveland Cavaliers’ LeBron James and Kevin Love all give it their all to dress the part in dressing their best as hoops ambassadors.

The trickle effect continued in New York city on Thursday as the NBA showcased the league’s brightest new stars at the 2018 NBA Draft at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Players dressed their best!

Clarence Jones, owner of CJ’s Custom Clothiers in Memphis Tennessee has designed shirts for Shaq, Steve Harvey, D.L. Hughley. He’s also created suits for Seattle Sonics legend, Gary Payton, the Denver Nuggets’ Mason Plumlee and more. Jones had a few favorites from Thursday’s NBA Draft.

Here are his top dressers:

Deandre Ayton

Clarence says: “He had a bluish color suit with window panes. I liked his tie and the green pocket square. That didn’t go well with the suit. But when you opened up the jacket you saw all the countries that he represented.”

Wendell Carter, Jr.

Clarence says: “I liked the Gucci printed style black suit. His mother and father all matched the same. It was a Coming to America theme. It was different.”

Miles Bridges

Clarence says: “He went very conservative. He had that suit made at Saks 5th Avenue. More patriotic than anything else. The highwater pants with the burgundy slippers were matching the tie with the shoes. Good combination.”

Donte DiVincenzo

Clarence says:  “I thought his suit was classic. Nothing outlandish. Just straight to the point.”

Lonnie Walker IV

Clarence says: “He had a nice white double breasted suit. The sleeves were a little short. But overall a great fit.”

Gentlemen’s Quarters has been a staple in Newark, NJ’s downtown Newark shopping district for over 25 years. Stylish hats, dressy sneakers, designer suits and even prom outfits have been the specialty for this family establishment.

Al-Quadin Muhammad, defensive end of the NFL’s New Orleans Saints is a frequent shopper at Gentlemen’s Quarters. Add one time New York Met and Boston Red Sox Mo Vaughn to that list. The three time MLB All Star and 1995 American League MVP has hand-picked his designer threads from the long running establishment.

Belal, a co-proprietor and stylist at the establishment believes that there were only three worthy of the “most stylish” at this year’s NBA Draft.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

Belal says: “Dominated the night with his daring and different floral suit.”

Marvin Bagley III

Belal says: “Came out shining; literally setting himself apart because of the fabrication of his suit.”

Lonnie Walker IV

Belal says: “Came out with a classic old school double breasted suit that has new school flavor.”
