The NBA Playoffs are finally back! First round upsets and disappointments are right around the corner, and all of us here at Basketball Society are more than excited to bring you with us every step of the way. Just a warning, we’re not going to be too sympathetic if your team loses earlier than you expected.

This week on Fisch’s Friday Rant, I wanted to give some of my thoughts on all of the first round matchups in the Western and Eastern Conferences. The East is showing a lot of promise with some up-and-coming teams. Giannis Antetokounmpo gets to show us all what he can do in the postseason, and the Boston Celtics are going to try and utilize the one seed as much as they can. This could be LeBron’s toughest trip through the east since he first made the playoffs with Cleveland and had to face the Detroit Pistons.

On the other hand, in the West, we get to see a lot of the same faces in Golden State, San Antonio, Houston, and Los Angeles. That’s the Clippers, not the Lakers. The Warriors are stacked even more this time around, but a lot of these contenders are looking primed to knock them off of their championship path. Russell Westbrook and James Harden, two triple-double machines, are going head-to-head right off the bat, and it should be a very fun contest.

Strap in folks, these playoffs are going to be an exciting ride!
